The client had three Rudraksha beads that he wanted to bring together into a single pendant. The piece was therefore developed around the exact size and shape of the three beads, creating one wearable form while keeping each Rudraksha clearly visible. Their natural surfaces and individual character were preserved throughout the process rather than being hidden behind the metalwork.
The design was built vertically around the three Rudraksha beads, with each section given a separate devotional element. Om was placed over the upper bead, Surya at the centre, and Mount Kailash with Nandi and a Shivalinga over the lower bead. A Trishula and Damaru complete the top of the pendant, bringing the full composition together in one balanced form. Once the design was approved, a 3D print was made to check the proportions and fit around all three Rudraksha beads before casting.
The piece was pressure cast under controlled conditions so the silver could flow cleanly through the narrow sections and small details around each Rudraksha setting. After casting, the surface was cleaned and polished in stages using four different compounds to gradually build a smooth, bright finish. Each stage was handled carefully to remove casting marks without softening the Om, Surya, Mount Kailash, Trishula, Damaru, or the finer decorative details.
Black rhodium and gold plating were applied across the design, with each finish limited to the areas where it was needed. Shivalingam is complete with black rhodium, while Nandi and the Trisula were highlighted in gold. Enamel was then added carefully to the Om, Damaru and Mt Kailashnath, with clean separation between each colour and plated surface.
